Virtual magic shows for remote teams. Cameras stay on.

Your all-hands is on Zoom again and everyone's camera is off. Most virtual events are a stage show pointed at a webcam. Johnny Wu built this one, Cyber Sorcery, from the ground up for remote teams and has performed it more than 1,000 times, hosted from his Los Angeles studio: every attendee gets a small box in the mail, they open it live with him on screen, and for forty-five minutes it feels like the team is in the same room again.

What happens on your call

Built for the screen, not retrofitted.

Comedians, musicians and magicians who usually work stages all rushed to Zoom in 2020, and most are still doing the same show, just smaller. They perform into a camera and the audience watches passively. This show is the opposite: your team participates with their hands, not just their eyes.

01 · Open your box now

Forty boxes open at the same moment.

Every attendee gets a sealed kit in the mail before the show: cards, an envelope, a notepad, a pen and a surprise. When Johnny says "open your box now" on camera, 40 people rip open 40 boxes at once. That simultaneous action is the first bond of the session, and from there the show never stops being interactive.

They hold the same playing cards he holds. They write on the same slips of paper. Their brains register it as real, not as media.

02 · Gallery view

Everyone sees everyone react.

On gallery view all 40 or 90 faces are visible at once. When the trick lands, you see the whole grid react together. That synchronous moment is what creates the sense of being with the team instead of watching alone.

One ninety-person tech company said their Q4 all-hands had the highest attendance of the year because word got out about the show.

03 · Pacing

Tight, 45 minutes, built for a camera frame.

Attention spans on video are about 70 percent of what they are in a room, so this isn't a 90-minute theatrical show stretched onto Zoom. Five to six participation moments, reveals that work in a frame, done in 45 minutes.

Zoom is the default. Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex and GoTo all work too; platform is settled on the booking call, and a 30-minute tech check 48 hours out covers your moderator's role, lighting and handoffs. Johnny joins 15 minutes early.

Virtual magic FAQ

What remote and hybrid teams ask.

Does magic actually work on Zoom?

Yes, but only when the show is built for Zoom from the ground up. A stage show pointed at a camera does not work. What does work is an experience where your team physically participates, holding real cards and real objects they can see themselves while Johnny works with the same items on his end. The physicality is the unlock. Without it, virtual entertainment feels like television you're watching instead of an event you're attending.

What happens in the show?

Modern magic, mentalism and mind reading, with optional virtual hypnosis, wrapped in clean comedy that works for all ages. No sponge balls or tired card tricks: the audience helps create the magic and controls how it turns out. Families are welcome to join in. Johnny Wu performs it, and his associate magician Dylan George performs it too, so more dates are open.

How long is the show?

Anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes. The flagship kit show runs 45 minutes, and the executive opener is a tight 20. Tell us your agenda and the show is cut to fit it.

Do you ship kits internationally?

Yes. Kits have shipped to 42 countries including the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, India, Singapore, Japan, Australia, the UAE, Brazil, Mexico and Canada. International shipping adds lead time, so for anything outside North America book 4 to 6 weeks ahead so kits arrive comfortably before the show.

What platforms do you support?

Zoom is the default. Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex and GoTo work too. Some platforms have slightly different moderator capabilities that affect the show, so platform is settled during the booking call and there are no surprises on show day.

What group size works best?

The fully interactive kit experience is best for 10 to 80 attendees. Above 80 the grid gets too dense and individual participation thins out. For groups of 100 or more, the large audience format has a rotating set of volunteers participating live while everyone else watches, cheers and reacts. Both formats land.

How does booking work?

A fifteen-minute booking call: headcount, date, platform and purpose, and you'll hear which format fits. You send a spreadsheet of attendee shipping addresses and sealed kits ship globally, arriving 5 to 10 days before showtime. A 30-minute rehearsal 48 hours before the show checks your platform, your moderator's role, lighting and handoff points. On the day Johnny joins your meeting 15 minutes early, and forty-five minutes later your team is buzzing in Slack.

What's the investment?

Kit shows scale with headcount, because each kit has material and shipping cost, and large-audience and executive formats are quoted on their own terms. Send your date, headcount and platform and you'll have a precise quote within 24 hours.

How far in advance should we book?

Because of kit shipping, 3 to 6 weeks out for domestic shows and 4 to 8 weeks for international. November and December book the heaviest for virtual holiday parties, sometimes 10 to 14 weeks ahead. Last-minute executive briefings without mailed kits can sometimes turn around in 5 to 7 business days.

Can the kits and show be branded to our company?

Yes. Your logo can be magically revealed in the middle of the show, which always gets a reaction. Kit boxes can be printed with your logo and brand colors, and the contents can include company-branded cards. During the show Johnny weaves in your product, your CEO and your internal jokes. Branding adds 2 to 3 weeks of lead time for print production. The result feels built for you, not a template.

What add-ons are available?

Three favorites. A 15-minute master class where your team learns two magic tricks they can do within ten minutes, so the night lives on long after the call. A logo reveal, where your company logo appears by magic mid-show. And a recording of the show afterward, perfect for anyone who could not make it.

What kinds of events book a virtual magic show?

Virtual corporate meetings, all-hands, conferences, sales kickoffs, holiday parties, team building, employee appreciation, after-hours socials, retirement parties, virtual birthdays and family celebrations. If it happens on a screen, the show can open it, close it or be the main event.
