I came to magic through acting.
I trained as an actor and a voice-over artist, and the first thing that training taught me was to listen to a room. Years of performing later, that is still the job. I read who is leaning in and who is pretending not to watch, then I build the next five minutes around them.
I do three things, and I do them in the same booking: sleight of hand up close, mind reading, and stage hypnosis. Netflix featured me. The Magic Castle in Hollywood made me a standing member, which you earn by performing for other magicians and having them vouch for you. I have hypnotized more than a thousand people. Every one of them volunteered, and every show is consent-based.
The rooms change. A boardroom of executives on Tuesday, a celebrity's birthday on Friday, a wedding cocktail hour on Saturday, a bar mitzvah with three generations at one table on Sunday. The same card trick does not work for all of them, so I do not do the same card trick for all of them.
Johnny built Omni Magic in 2017. I am the other half. When your event needs two rooms covered, or one room blown open, that is me.
